The Program Committee is willing to review extended abstracts from researchers who are interested in participating in the Histories of Computing in Asia workshop in December 2020 (HCA 2020). This is an optional step before the submission of draft papers, which are due by 1 June 2020.

Papers for the workshop should follow a standard academic format. Accordingly, the abstract should preview each of the typical sections with a few sentences each. Although each paper differs, generally speaking a paper includes:

  1. Introduction (including a thesis statement)
  2. Literature Review (overview of relevant, previously published work in the field)
  3. Methodology
  4. Observations (analysis of material from archives or other sources that support the thesis)
  5. Conclusions (implications, future work)

In order to receive the most effective comments, your extended abstract should be from 500 to 1,500 words. A space for the works cited follows.

Note: Even if you choose not to submit an abstract, you may still submit a draft paper between 1 May and 1 June 2020.
